Amy Sung is no ordinary Ivy League educated, former Investment Banker. Since leaving Wall Street five years ago, she has become a world traveler / treasure hunter / designer / entrepreneur. Travel is in Amy's blood. She was born in Asia, raised in North Africa, and educated in New York City and London.
Amy calls New York City home, and spends her summers in Greenwich, Conn., and winters in Asia. During the winter months, Amy and her husband use Hong Kong as their base and travel throughout Asia. A few of their favorite destinations include Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Bali and India.
On her travels, Amy's keen eye, coupled with the knowledge she acquired while studying Interior Design and Decorative Art History at Parsons, and the experience from working closely with architects and interior designers on numerous projects, guides her in her hunt for distinctive home décor objects. Indeed, many of these objects fill her home in New York and Connecticut. These objects range from sumptuous Thai silk throws and cushion covers to vibrant hand-lacquered trays and boxes from Vietnam, as well as handmade silver wares from India, hand-carved masks and tabletop wares made by artisans in Bali, and so much more!
In December, Amy travelled to Hong Kong, Vietnam, the Philippines, and for the first time, to the princely states of Rajasthan, India. In the near future, she will be launching a luxury bedding business in Hong Kong, which emphasizes modern and chic designs, as well as, quality and old-world craftsmanship, targeting the international clientele of Hong Kong and Asia. And, upon returning stateside in the spring, Amy will be hosting a launch party to introduce her products to the US market so stay tuned!
